Old King Cole

– Another in the long line of Mother Goose songs. I’ve never recorded anything that sounds like this. I hope you like it.

King Cole held a concert
At the castle once a year
The greatest bands in all the land
Would come from far and near
Ladies with their lyres
Men with mandolins
Harps and lutes, and wooden flutes
And the music would begin
The music would begin

We’d raise our glasses
And everyone would sing
Old King Cole
Was a merry old soul
A merry old soul was he
He called for his pipe
He called for his bowl
He called for his fiddlers three

Each fiddler came a-running
With the finest violin
They’d rosin up the bow
To accompany the king
Pipers with their bagpipes
Bowlers with their bowls
Everyone was jamming
In the courtyard of King Cole
The courtyard of King Cole

We’d raise our glasses
And everyone would sing
Old King Cole
Was a merry old soul
A merry old soul was he
There’s none so rare
As can compare
With King Cole
And his fiddlers three
